I had a wonderful time when I recently visited Disney World in Orlando for the first time.

There’s something about Disney theme parks that just bring a sense of joy and wonder. They do such a great job crafting stories to go with exciting rides.

As I stated before, I love creating playlists. I put together a playlist for visiting Disney World to get excited for the experience.

Below are 15 songs from that Disney playlist that I hope you enjoy as much as me!

Here are my Top 20 Tips and Recommendations for Disney World.

15 Song Playlist for Visiting Walt Disney World

1) A Whole New World – Aladdin

Whenever I hear A Whole New World, I feel like I’m instantly transported to a magic carpet flying through the air.

Aladdin was such a great movie and will always have a special place in my heart.

Partly because it was the first movie I ever snuck into. I went to go see Jurassic Park with my friend’s family and afterwards they said, “Oh, Aladdin is starting in 10 minutes across the hall. Let’s go see it.”

I was blown away and hesitantly followed them, even though I didn’t really have a choice. Turned out to be an awesome experience for a 12-year-old. I think a double feature of Jurassic Park and Aladdin is pretty amazing, don’t you?

A Whole New World is a song that you can’t help but sing along to anytime you hear it.

In fact, it is now a song I like to add to my karaoke repertoire. It’s fun singing songs where you can’t hit a single note, but everyone in the audience sings along with you.

2) Part of Your World – The Little Mermaid

Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat?

The Little Mermaid brought Disney animation back in a big way.

It was a Disney take on an old Hans Christian Andersen classic that captivated everyone.

Part of Your World is one of my friend’s favorite songs and she loves to belt it out on karaoke. In fact, she took the microphone from a guy that didn’t know the lyrics so it could be sung properly.

How can you not love a song that has thingamabobs in it?

3) When You Wish Upon A Star – Pinocchio

I’m not sure if parents are showing their children the old school classics like Pinocchio, but they should.

I have really fond memories of watching this movie growing up and learning about honesty.

I also loved Jiminy Cricket and the classic When You Wish Upon A Star. This is such a beautiful song and it’s easy to see why it is many people’s favorite Disney song.

4) Oo-De-Lally – Robin Hood

Disney’s Robin Hood might be my favorite Disney animation movie of all time.

I don’t think there’s been a better Robin Hood adaption, either.

Oo-De-Lally is a short song, but it has always stayed with me. I still sing parts of it regularly to this day.

When I purchased the movie recently, I told myself I was getting it for my nephews to watch.

That was a lie. I purchased it for myself, this song and to share the joy of Robin Hood with my nephews.

5) How Far I’ll Go – Moana

I didn’t know what to expect when I saw Moana for the first time.

I wasn’t quite prepared for how incredible the story and animation were.

Moana left me really missing Hawaii and the Pacific Islands after watching the film.

However, what blew me away the most was the amazing music. Auli’I Cravalho (Moana) is just a super star and really nailed everything she sang. It’s impossible not to appreciate her talent.

How Far I’ll Go is a fantastic song and shows off her skill. I love this soundtrack!

6) Rey’s Theme – Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I love everything Star Wars.

I love everything John Williams.

He is the greatest movie composer of all time, and perhaps the greatest composer ever.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens saw John Williams return to score the third trilogy of the series. His masterpiece is Rey’s Theme.

I know there are more iconic Star Wars songs, but I’m only considering songs from the Disney empire for this list.

When I hear Rey’s Theme, I just think of the epic journey of discovering who you are, and the trials experienced on that journey.

Regardless of the film, I can listen to anything John Williams composes forever on end, it’s just that beautiful.

John Williams has said that Episode IX will be his last Star Wars score and I can’t wait to see and hear what he and JJ Abrams have in store for us.

7) Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious – Mary Poppins

When Mary Poppins came out, it enriched the lives of many with its creative storytelling that combined live action and animation.

The story was truly imaginative, and I remembered being young and thinking that cartoons were real.

Well, I was a little off on that one, however it really helped my imagination grow.

Mary Poppins was also the first musical that I actually enjoyed. What child didn’t want to hear that a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down?

The song that always stuck with me was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, partly because the word is so long and sound ridiculous. Also because of how much fun Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke had in the scene.

Van Dyke’s accent aside, the two of them just nailed this movie and made it a lot of fun.

Saving Mr. Banks was a real entertaining movie about the making of Mary Poppins starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson. I highly recommend everyone giving that movie a watch.

8) The Bare Necessities – The Jungle Book

For some reason I find myself singing The Bare Necessities whenever I’m camping or doing anything minimalist.

It just feels right.

The Jungle Book was another classic Disney movie I was raised on and this was my favorite song. It reminds me that you don’t need a lot of possessions to be happy in life, which is so true.

9) Circle of Life – The Lion King

The opening to The Lion King is one of the best openings to a Disney movie ever. Or really any movie.

It really hooks you right into the story. At the forefront is the amazing song Circle of Life.

The song really sets the stage with the theme for the whole movie. It’s a beautiful and powerful song that helps pull you into the movie.

I absolutely love The Lion King and cannot wait until the live-action movie is released on July 19, 2019!

10) Be Our Guest – Beauty and the Beast

The first time I watched Beauty and the Beast I was totally distracted by how similar Mrs. Potts sounded to Jessica Fletcher from Murder, She Wrote.

Turns out it’s the same person!

I already liked Angela Lansbury from Murder, She Wrote, and after hearing her sing and act in Beauty and the Beast I liked her even more.

Be Our Guest is my favorite song from Beauty and the Beast and the song easily claimed a spot on my Disney vacation playlist.

11) Friend Like Me – Aladdin

With so many great songs in Aladdin, it was hard to just pick one.

Robin Williams was a genius and I miss his contributions to entertainment dearly.

His amazing talent is on full display in the musical number Friend Like Me. The impersonations and caricatures Robin Williams created are spot on in this song and throughout the entire movie.

It’s impossible not to sing along to this song and wish you had a friend like him.

12) He’s a Pirate – Pirates of the Caribbean

I had my reservations when Disney decided to turn one of their most beloved rides into a movie.

However, Pirates of the Caribbean hooked me right from the start. One of the main reasons I enjoyed the movie was that movie’s score.

Movie scores are supposed to seamlessly fit into a movie and accentuate the story. Scores help propel movies to new heights and take you on a roller coaster ride.

He’s a Pirate is a wonderfully catchy song that does just that and really lifts the movie up. It’s hard not to think of Pirates of the Caribbean and not think of this song (or yes, Johnny Depp).

A fun aside, one day my friends and I were at a club dancing when a guy dressed as a pirate walked in. The DJ saw this and immediately wove He’s a Pirate into his set and the whole place erupted. It was a really cool scene and helped make the night unforgettable.

13) Derezzed – Tron Legacy

My first experience with Tron was with the old school arcade game where players get to use the light cycles and battle tanks.

I absolutely loved that game.

Several years later, my dad introduced the Tron movie to me.

I had no idea it was a movie first and was completely entranced by film’s CGI.

Tron combined cutting edge CGI and special effects for the time with a unique plot to produce an incredibly futuristic story.

When Disney released Tron: Legacy in 2010, I was there opening night.

The special effects and CGI were incredible, once again.

However, what stood out the most was the awesome soundtrack created by Daft Punk.

The music fit seamlessly with the action on futuristic world of the Grid and elevated the movie to another realm.

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite off the album, it’s just that good.

Derezzed is an excellent song off the Tron: Legacy album. This song really personifies the movie with its high energy and futuristic sound.

Disney made a great choice by having Daft Punk score this movie.

Do yourself a favor and get the Tron: Legacy album by Daft Punk. You will not be disappointed.

14) Hakuna Matata

Hakuna Matata is another example of a really good and catchy song by Disney.

I already discussed how great The Lion King is.

This song is also one of my favorite phrases to say. I’ve used it so many times to diffuse situations and bring a smile to someone’s face.

When someone says angrily, “Sorry, you can’t do that,” just respond with, “Okay, hakuna matata.” It’s just such a great way to say, “No worries.”

A great example of this was from when I went on a cruise to Jamaica.

This woman stepped on my foot and spilled her drink on me, and I responded with, “Hakuna matata” after she apologized. She asks, “Do you speak Swahili?”

I was taken aback and responded, “Huh?”

She asks me what I said, and I repeated the phrase. She goes, “You do speak Swahili!”

I let her know that I didn’t, and she asked if I knew what it meant. I said, “It means no worries!”

She was flabbergasted and wanted to know how I knew what it meant because she speaks Swahili. I told her I learned it from The Lion King, of course.

Hakuna Matata brings people together, it’s as easy as that.

15) You’re Welcome – Moana

Writer Lin-Manuel Miranda stated that he knew Dwayne Johnson was going to play Maui and wanted to write a song that only The Rock could get away with singing in the special features of Moana.

That song became You’re Welcome.

You’re Welcomeis a hilarious song about the incredible exploits of Maui, that song by anyone else would come across as just being arrogant and rude.

Instead, Johnson turns it into a fun song that you just can’t help but sing along to.

It also makes for a great meme.

Whenever I say, “You’re welcome” now, I sing it. Yeah, I think it’s obvious, I love Moana and its soundtrack.

You should definitely get both or stream them if you can!
