In today’s post we’re going to dive into my review of the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Hotel.

In this post you will learn about the rooms, amenities, restaurants, and benefits of staying at the Hilton Bonnet Creek Hotel.

I’ll explain to you why staying at the Hilton Bonnet Creek is an excellent choice for families visiting Disney World or Universal Studios, and for business professionals.

Let’s get right into my Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek review!

The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is the Perfect Hotel for Adults and Families Visiting the Orlando Theme Parks

When you come to Orlando, there is an abundance of things to do.

There are a bunch of great theme parks, golf courses, shopping (if you’re into that sort of thing), and of course, everyone’s favorite, going to conventions.

With this much to do, there are going to be a plethora of places to stay.

For my last trip to Orlando I stayed at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and I absolutely loved it.

The Hilton Bonnet Creek is also cheaper than a lot of the Disney World Resort Hotels, which is a great way to save money!

I have a post all about the best ways to save money at Disney World, which I highly recommend reading.

Location

My friends and I were in Orlando to go to Disney World and wanted to stay at a hotel close to the parks.

We decided on the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and I’m really glad we did.

The Bonnet Creek is a max 15-minute drive to any of the Disney World parks, and a 20-minute drive to Universal Studios.

This is a fantastic location to be in and central to anything you want to do. It’s also about 30 minutes away from Orlando International Airport.

They do not offer free pick up and drop off from the airport, though, which was a bummer to me.

Good news is that it’s super easy to take an Uber, Lyft, or rent a car. I took an Uber to and from the airport, and both were under $35, which isn’t that bad.

Transportation To and From Hilton Bonnet Creek

Free Shuttles

The Bonnet Creek is closest to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot, both taking just under 10 minutes to get to. The furthest away were Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom Park.

Driving to the parks was really straightforward and easily navigable. They also offer a free shuttle to and from the hotel to each of the Disney parks. Unfortunately, there is no shuttle to Universal Studios.

The free shuttles have different times for each park.

The shuttle to Animal Kingdom departs at 7:30am and 8am, then every hour after that until close. The shuttle back to the hotel from Animal Kingdom starts at 7:50am, then 8:40am and every hour after that until after the park closes.

Going from Hilton Bonnet Creek to the Magic Kingdom picks up at 8am and goes until close every 30 minutes. Pick-ups returning to the hotel begin at 8:20am and are every 30 minutes until after the park closes.

Shuttles going to Hollywood Studios and Epcot depart the hotel at 8:30am and leave every hour until the park closes. Returning from those parks also occurs every hour until after the parks close, with pick-ups from Epcot starting at 9:05am and 9:15am for Hollywood Studios.

This is a great service that lets you keep the car parked at the hotel and saving you $20 for parking at the parks.

If you are a like me and don’t rent a car, it’s a perfect free way to get to and from the parks.

Minnie Vans

Disney recently launched a new service similar to Uber and Lyft called Minnie Vans. This service is offered through the Lyft app, so you need that downloaded on your phone to use it. Minnie Vans are for use only on Disney Resort sites.

This means you can only use the service from any of the Disney World parks, hotels or venues on property. The services run from 6:30am-12:30am. The main perk with Minnie Vans is they drop you off right at the entrance to the parks, closer than a bus, taxi or Uber/Lyft.

This service does come at a premium, though. They have a flat rate of $15 plus $2.75/mile. This is going to run double or triple the cost of an Uber or Lyft and is similar or a little more than using a taxi.

They also offer drop off at the airport from 7am-12am, however, that will run you $150 or more. That’s insane!

For comparison, my Uber to the airport was $23. I see no reason to take it to the airport over using Uber or Lyft.

The vehicles come with 2 child seats and you can order a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, which is nice. That being said, I see no real benefit to using this service over Uber or Lyft.

The Rooms

I will happily admit the rooms were far better than I expected.

I really don’t anticipate hotel rooms to be anything over average.

The Rooms at the Hilton Bonnet Creek were actually quite nice. My friend and I were in a deluxe room with 2 queen beds.

The room was spacious and cozy. There were the 2 beds, but also a nice lounge chair, which no one really uses other than to put their bag on.

The bathroom was also quite nice and had plenty of counter space for us to spread all our toiletries on.

Does anyone else feel the need to just spread everything out for no reason other than to just do it? It’s so nice.

The Bonnet Creek offers many different rooms.

You can reserve a room with a view of the Disney fireworks, a view of the Disney parks, or a high floor room for the deluxe rooms.

They also offer 4 different suite rooms for families or individuals looking for more space. All the rooms look really nice and are very comfortable.

Each of the rooms come with a mini fridge, a coffee maker with coffee and tea, a TV, a safe that can fit a laptop, and an alarm clock which no one will use.

The air conditioning in the rooms works excellent, too

For those of you like me that like a cold room to sleep in, you will be able to rest easy. They also have nice blackout curtains – a must for every hotel in my view.

Amazing Beds

The best part about the rooms were the comfortable beds and awesome pillows.

I’m a pillow snob and don’t sleep well with the usual hotel pillows. They are either too firm, too big or too thin.

These might have been the nicest hotel pillows I’ve slept on. Their feather pillows were the perfect combination of firmness to fluffiness. They are the first and only hotel pillows I would actually want at home.

The beds were also very nice. A little more on the firm side, but not too firm. I like to sleep on a cloud, and while they were not that soft, they were not hard as a rock.

My friend and I both slept excellent on these beds and I think you will, too.

I will also report that the room I stayed in was impeccably clean. There were no stray hairs or stains anywhere in the room. Gotta love a nice clean room!

Amenities

I like a hotel that offers a little something extra to the guests staying there.

It doesn’t have to be over the top (though I’m good with that), but at least something that lets you know the hotel cares about the guest experience.

The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek has some great features I feel guests will really enjoy.

Pool and Lazy River

Pool and Lazy River at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek

The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek has an awesome family-friendly pool.

This, however, is not an ordinary pool – it is also a lazy river! How rad!

Lazy rivers are always a great time. I really enjoyed the pool area during my stay.

This pool is also equipped with a water slide to add to the fun. I posted up on a beach chair, bumped some tunes on my JammyPack, soaked up the sun and floated around on the lazy river.

It was awesome! The pool area also has a full bar and restaurant food for guests.

When the waitress came by to serve me, there was only one drink I was interested in.

Florida is one of the few states that sells Yuengling, America’s oldest brewery based out of Pottsville, Pennsylvania.

Yuengling Traditional Lager is only available in 22 states in the East and South and Washington, DC, thus I only get to have it once or twice a year.

I love Yuengling and make a point of ordering one (at the minimum) of these light and flavorful lagers if they are available. Damn it tasted great out by the water!

Fitness Center

Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Fitness Center
Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Fitness Center

It’s nice to exercise and stay in shape while you’re traveling.

The Bonnet Creek Fitness Center can help you out with that. They have a nice selection of free weights, treadmills, and exercise machines, all with a view of the pool.

It’s pretty nice in there. They also offer yoga Saturday and Sunday morning at 8am at the neighboring Waldorf Astoria.

Access to the fitness center is free for all guests and the one-hour yoga sessions are $15/person (mat is included).

WA Kids Club

The WA Kids Club sounds pretty nice for parents that need something to occupy their children. It’s adjacent to the Waldorf Astoria and costs $75 for one child and $25 for each additional child.

They have a full range of activities like arts and crafts, scavenger hunts and board games for the kids.

That being said, I think the main activity for the kids is going to the theme parks. It is nice to know they offer a service like this, though.

Waldorf Astoria Spa Access

As a guest of the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek you get access to the Waldorf Astoria Spa.

They have an assortment of treatments and therapies designed to rejuvenate you. This adds a nice luxurious touch to your stay.

Waldorf Astoria Golf Club Access

For golf enthusiasts, all guests have access to the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club.

This is a highly rated golf course that looks like it would be great to play. They even have a Stay and Play package that includes one round of golf for each night you stay.

Seems pretty cool if you’re coming to get some golfing in.

Disney World Extra Magic Hours Benefit

The Extra Magic Hours Benefit and lazy river are my 2 favorite amenities offered by the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.

Extra Magic Hours allow guests staying at select Disney World Resort hotels the opportunity to enjoy some of the most popular attractions at one of the 4 theme parks before or after regular operating hours.

I think the best is going before the park opens to hit up a ride that usually has ridiculous lines, like Avatar Flight of Passage or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Going after the parks close, there are still a lot of people, so earlier is better.

All guests need to access the Extra Magic Hours benefit is a valid Disney theme park ticket and an Extra Magic Hours voucher.

Just visit the front desk to get your voucher. Each person in the party will need a voucher to access the Extra Magic Hours.

Digital Key

Digital Key is a service offered by participating Hilton hotels where you use the Hilton Honors app to check in, choose your room and use your phone as a key.

I really like this feature because my phone is usually a lot easier to find than those pesky key cards. It’s so easy to set up and use, too.

Once set up, go to your door, put your phone to the lock, tap unlock and your door is open. Easy as that!

Food at Hilton Bonnet Creek

Eating at a hotel usually leaves me feeling let down and dissatisfied. That is not the case here.

Believe it or not, the Bonnet Creek has some really great food options. They have 8 restaurants on-site, with 2 real standouts in my opinion.

Harvest Bistro

You will find Harvest Bistro hidden away a little downstairs. They have a full breakfast menu, however, the real star was the breakfast buffet.

There are 2 breakfast buffets to choose from: Breakfast Bar ($28) and The Continental ($18).

The Continental has a nice spread of salmon, charcuterie, made-in-house granola, bagels, muffins, toast, really nice fruit, yogurt, cereal and more.

The Breakfast Bar adds hot breakfast items like made to order eggs, bacon, sausage, roasted potatoes, pancakes and waffles to The Continental offerings. Both come with coffee, tea, juice or sodas to drink.

I just had The Continental and it was outstanding and more than enough to fuel me up for the day. The food was fresh and tasted great.

This might be a first for me, but I am going to recommend the breakfast buffet at the Hilton Bonnet Creek Hotel.

La Luce

The best restaurant at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is La Luce. It could be the best Italian restaurant in Orlando.

La Luce is an Italian fine dining restaurant that has fantastic dishes. Their menu features a modern take on traditional Italian classics.

That can sound scary, but the food at La Luce is incredible.

I recommend trying the Olive Fritte (fried olives), Risotto del Giorno, Silk Handkerchiefs and Seared Salmon Filet. They are all marvelous.

The wait staff is great and will help pair any dish with the perfect wine. I highly recommend eating at La Luce at least once during your stay at the Bonnet Creek Hotel.

The Staff

The staff are incredible. I was the first from my group to arrive at our hotel, a full 4 hours ahead of my friends.

Unfortunately, I was not able to check into the room until they arrived since the room was not in my name.

The hotel was gracious enough to let me check my bag and use their amenities until the everyone else arrived.

That meant I was able to change into my board shorts and chill at the pool and be waited on. It was great.

The staff were also super helpful answering any questions we had. They knew the directions to everywhere we wanted to go and were incredibly helpful.

Service was prompt, all requests were filled promptly, and everyone was very pleasant to deal with. That’s about all you can ask from a hotel.

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.

My past experiences with hotels near theme parks have usually been letdowns. Not here.

The Bonnet Creek exceeded my expectations in every area, and I left completely satisfied.

It was honestly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. I still can’t get over how comfortable the beds are.

The Hilton Bonnet Creek is the perfect hotel for individuals, couples and families for your business or pleasure trip to Orlando.
