The Best Travel Gifts for Women – by Gabby from the Office Escape Artist

HSI Professional Hair Straightener

I love this hair straightener! It outperforms my ~$100 CHI hair straightener at a fraction of the cost.

On top of that, it’s dual voltage which is VERY important when traveling abroad.

I have two of these that I just keep packed in my favorite suitcases, so I’m always prepared!

INIU Portable Charger

I never travel anywhere without an external battery pack.

I like the option of charging my phone or tablet on the go without needing to hunt for a plug at the airport or a restaurant.

This item is awesome because it can charge two devices at the same time AND holds 3 whole phone charges on it!

Cosmetic Kit

The Convenience Kits Deluxe Kit would make a great holiday gift for women.

The cosmetic kit contains all the toiletries women need – such as shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, and body wash – in TSA-approved sizes.

They’re organized in one place for easy access.

I’ve purchased multiple of these kits over the years, and they are so convenient for both short-term travel and long-term travel.

I don’t have to worry about whether I’m forgetting anything.

I just throw the kit in my carry-on and I’m good to go.

Door Stop Alarm

As a solo female traveler, it can be scary to stay in locations by oneself.

Being safety minded, I love having tools that help to keep me safe.

One tool that I always carry with me is a door stop alarm.

When I go to sleep at night, I wedge the alarm under the door. If anyone tries to open the door, a piercing alarm not only alerts me to the intruder but will most likely scare them off too!

This tool allows me to sleep peacefully and never worry about break-ins!

Kindle Paperwhite

One of the best gifts I ever received as a blogger and traveller was a Kindle.

I love a good book and love physical books even more, but motorhome travel does not lend itself to carting loads of weighty novels around!

My Kindle allows me to download a selection of books when I have Wi-Fi or can hotspot from my phone, to be read when I don’t have a signal, usually the case in the type of remote places we like to visit.

The screen mimics a page, its waterproof and so easy to use I don’t know why I was so hung-up on ‘real’ books; the words are still the same!

We are Izzy & Phil, aka The Gap Decaders.  Eighteen months ago, we sold our house and possessions, quit our jobs and bought a motorhome.  We’ve been travelling in Europe ever since…you can find us at https://thegapdecaders.com, on Facebook and Pinterest.

Note from Scott: I also recommend signing up for Kindle Unlimited.

Your membership gets you unlimited access to thousands of eBooks, magazines, and audiobooks with Kindle Unlimited all for $9.99/month.

Right now Amazon has a special where your first 2 months of Kindle Unlimited are free!

Kindle Unlimited is awesome for people that love to read. I actually use it for all my audiobook downloads, which are perfect for travel.

PacSafe Metrosafe Ls350 Anti-theft 15l Travel Backpack

PacSafe is one of my favorite travel brands because of the variety of product styles offered and their anti-theft design.

This backpack is my go-to for city travel based on the protection it provides against pickpockets on public transportation and in crowded areas.

It’s very comfortable and lightweight and has designated space for the typical items (small laptop, water bottle, wallet etc.) with a surprising amount of additional space, given its size.

Fujifilm Instax Wide 300 Instant Film Camera

Bringing back fond memories of my youth, the wide frame of this camera in particular most closely resembles the retro look of the old-fashioned square photos.

Using the Fuji Instax in addition to my iPhone adds an extra layer of fun and creativity to my travel photos, not to mention the instant gratification of holding a new photo in my hand.

It’s also fun to include in a wedding photo booth or at birthday parties for adults and kids.

Don’t forget to buy the (wide) filma case and extra batteries.

Fanny Pack/Bumbag

All hail the bumbag, the perfect travel accessory!

Bumbags have become an essential especially when I’m actually travelling as there’s nothing worse than not having your passport or tickets to hand.

This one is the perfect size to fit everything in and lies really flat to your body so that it isn’t an obvious target for pickpocketers and easy to hide if your airline is hot on how many bags you can take.

If you live in the US, check out this Waterfly Fanny Pack or this OlimpiaFit Fanny Pack.

Best Female Travel Gifts – by Sharyn McCullum from Live Work Play Travel

Travel Wallet

Call me crazy, as many do, but one thing that makes me travel better is being organised.

My favourite way of being organised is knowing where all of my important documents are and being able to put my fingers on them at a moment’s notice.

The best organiser I have is my Travel Wallet which holds my passport, credit cards, cash, driver’s licence and other important documents that I might need.

My Travel Wallet is just the right size to fit in to a daypack or shoulder bag, so it looks like an ordinary wallet and doesn’t stand out.

Sharyn McCullum has travelled most of her life thanks to her dad that worked for an airline, so she has discovered many useful travel products that help make her travels a little easier. Visit her blog at Live Work Play Travel and follow her on Facebook and Instagram!

Solid Shampoo

Every traveller who loves flying carry-on only understands the true pain of the 100mL liquids rule.

Decanting shampoo and body wash into small containers seems counter-intuitive, especially if you’re going on a long trip.

That’s why I absolutely love solid toiletries.

They’re compact and long-lasting, and don’t explode mid-flight, ruining everything else in your bag (we’ve all been there).

I swear by this shampoo bar, even when I’m just at home and not flying anywhere.

Turkish Beach Towel

These days, checking a bag on to a plane can be an expensive business.

Travelling light is definitely the way forward.

I used to have room in my luggage for a heavy beach towel. It never dried out properly, was constantly dirty and took up way too much space.

I would like to introduce you to the Turkish Hamman towel.

Thank me later.

Thin and light, it rinses out and dries in the sunshine when you go to the pool car for a drink.

It’s a definite must have.

I wouldn’t have been without mine Greek island hopping this summer.

SaniGirl’s Sanitary Funnels

SaniGirl’s Sanitary Funnels are a sigh of relief.

Whether at a rest stop, a nightclub, or anywhere a man could get away with peeing, SaniGirl has got you covered.

The disposable device is easy to slide into a purse or daypack, leaving space for other items and creating space between you and an unexpected, questionable toilet seat.

While reusable funnels are recommended for travels like camping, this disposable and flat design saves you from having to clean and store an item that might not be easy to casually carry.

Just pop one in your bag and thank yourself later.
